Description
The amendment to the Building Energy Act has been in effect since January 1, 2024. It stipulates that every newly installed heating system in new development areas must initially be powered by at least 65% renewable energy. For existing buildings, the guideline applies between 2026 and 2030, depending on the size of the municipality and heat planning. This obligation can be fulfilled with biomethane, among other things. Do municipal utilities have to prepare for increasing demand? Under what conditions can biomethane be used? What documentation requirements are there and can the SESTA levy be saved by using it?
