Responsibilities

  • Process design, modeling and engineering (including sub-vendor equipment selection) for municipal biosolids treatment projects
  • Develop and peer review process flow diagrams, P&IDs, mass, heat and energy balances
  • Development of process control strategies including functional descriptions
  • Utilize, update and optimize design tools for biosolids and resource recovery processes
  • Commissioning, start-up, operator training, and process technical support for municipal thermal drying, co-digestion and biogas utilization

Job Qualifications

  • B.S. in Chemical, Civil, Environmental, Mechanical Engineering or related field of study with at least 5 years of process engineering or related experience
  • Well developed understanding of biosolids treatment technologies and related equipment including: drying, thickening, anaerobic digestion, dewatering, conveyance, air pollution control, etc.
  • Practical experience in application of thermodynamic, heat transfer, and fluid dynamic principles in design of process systems and equipment selection.
  • Periodic travel (<20%) to job sites to train operators, perform process startup and commissioning functions, and/or provide assessment of system performance
  • Minimum 5 years experience in a related field is required.
