Responsibilities

A Mechanical Engineer is part of the Engineering Unit of the Technology Department and will be responsible for the design and review of projects documentation (structural, mechanical, piping, layouts, etc). The responsibilities of the role include:

• Responsible for design activities of high level of complexity
• Perform specific calculation such conceptual and design calculations for pressure vessels and pipping
• Knowledge on 2014/68UE PED Pressure vessels directive
• Knowledge on ASME Code and Standards
• Responsible for production of deliverables, which may include engineering support to the Drawing Office, design calculations, specifications, procedures, analyses, progress reports, bid evaluations, study reports and various 3rd-party submissions

Job Qualifications

Technical

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent (e.g. through work experience)
• 2-5 years of engineering experience
• Knowledge of piping, connectors, and valves
• Steel structure design, material strength, piping design
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, such as Word and Excel
• Ability of understanding and speaking English

• Willing and able to travel when necessary
• Analytically strong, result and solution oriented; able to anticipate next steps and potential issues
• Structured worker with ability of organizing and document the work properly, according to internal indications
• Inventive, independent and you think solution-oriented
• Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines and different project complexities
• Previous experience in the field (an asset)
