Job Description

As The Director, of Project Management a project director, you lead efforts to design, procure, and install industrial equipment, systems, and facilities. You develop, track, and evaluate programs to help achieve goals and objectives. You may manage and administer a large and diverse team of professional, technical, support staff, and contractors, both directly and indirectly, through managers and supervisors. You also create and manage complex budgets and business plans relating to project development and implementation.

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Managing Director, NA Execution & Operations, the responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Management of Project Managers, Commissioning Managers, and Procurement Managers.
  • Development and review of project management procedures. and quality management program.
  • Ensure that all Project Managers issue a monthly update to cash flow, cost to complete, project schedule, and procurement log.
  • Development and review of commissioning and procurement procedures and lead efforts to improve the quality management program.
  • Development and review of procurement procedures and quality management program.
  • Complete Monthly reviews of all project performance directly with project managers
  • Update and review of North America project performance with executive team
  • Lead client interface on important projects or as needed on projects.
  • Monthly updates to resource planning and forecast documents monthly.
  • Review and negotiate agreements with equipment vendors and industrial contractors.
  • Review and participate in negotiations with clients.
  • Lead meetings as necessary with the executive team, clients, investors, lenders, or other important stakeholders.
  • Directly Manage critical or high-profile projects or manage projects on an interim basis as required.

Job Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

  • Holds a technical diploma or graduation in Civil Engineering / Mechanical Engineering/ Electrical Engineering/ Chemical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Must be able to interpret construction drawings, including Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams.
  • 15 + years experience in Project Management in the Industrial Plant business. Prefer experience in anaerobic digestion, biogas, WWTP, and/or solid waste.
  • Requires experience with the specification and installation of equipment such as pumps, tanks, chillers, valves, piping, dryers, mixers, and associated automated controls.
  • Requires experience on industrial construction sites as an engineer, construction manager, or project manager.
  • Possess a Professional Engineering (P.Eng.) license OR EIT eligible for licensing.
  • Experience with biogas, renewable natural gas (RNG), wastewater, anaerobic digestion, and/or organic waste processing.
  • Possessing Project Management Professional Certification through the Project Management Institute, or equivalent is preferred.
  • Previous estimating experience on industrial plant projects is preferred.

Additional Requirements

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. with the ability and willingness to occasionally travel.
  • Fluent in English.
  • The Director, Project Management is NOT an Information Technology (IT) position.
